Great Uncle Edmund

My great-uncle’s name is Edmund He was a veteran in the U.S.M.C. (United States Marine Corps). He served for 6 years, from 1963 to 1969. When he started he was 18 years old, and when he finished he was 24. He signed up instead of being drafted. He did not go to war, but he was stationed in Camp Lejune. He had a job as an Infantry man. Great uncle Edmund received 2 honors while in the military: the Good Conduct medal and Expert Rifle Shooting medal. After serving, he came home and raised a family. He worked for IBM and learned a trade. He was ranked Sargent. His fondest memory of his time in the military is graduating from Boot Camp. His 2 worst memories are being so thirsty all the time (he didn’t get a lot of water), and having to wake up to work at the mess hall at 3:00 A.M. and staying there until 6:00 P.M. I am so thankful for his years of service to our country!
